Position Overview

As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in assisting dentists with various procedures and operating x-ray equipment. To excel in this position, candidates must possess a valid state hygiene license and have prior experience in the field.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize dental tools to remove plaque, tartar, and stains from teeth and below gum lines.
• Review and document patient medical histories.
• Employ probes to assess and identify periodontal issues and other signs of gum disease.
• Record instances of dental decay and disease for further diagnosis and treatment by dentists.
• Maintain dental equipment and x-ray machines.
• Conduct visual and tactile examinations of gums for signs of disease, sores, and other oral health concerns.
• Encourage preventive dental care to enhance patient oral health.
• Apply fluoride and other agents to prevent dental decay.
• Collaborate effectively with dentists and dental assistants.
• Manage a dental hygiene program tailored for patients.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Associate’s degree from an accredited dental hygiene program.
• Valid state hygiene license.
• Current CPR certification.
• Capability to administer local anesthetics.
• Proficient in operating x-ray machines.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Comfortable using computers for various tasks.
• In-depth knowledge of oral hygiene and dental health practices.

Compensation and Benefits

• Hourly pay ranging from $75 to $80.
