Job Opportunity: Chief of Radiology/Imaging

Our organization in Portland, Oregon, is on the lookout for a skilled and proactive leader to fill the role of Chief of Radiology/Imaging. This position involves close collaboration with the Imaging Administrative Officer and the Chief Technologist to create a cohesive Imaging management team responsible for overseeing all service operations. This leadership group is dedicated to delivering top-notch Radiology services to Veterans, establishing local policies for effective service provision, managing the budget, and supervising staff. Key focus areas include service quality, safety, accessibility, innovation, and efficient care delivery.

About Our Organization

We are a 1A complex tertiary care facility that serves approximately 95,000 Veterans throughout northwest and central Oregon. In partnership with a prominent health sciences university, we host around 2,000 health professional learners each year and rank among the top 10 nationwide in research grant support. Our organization boasts over 170 investigators, more than $41 million in grant funding, and over 500 active research protocols. We are particularly recognized for our lung cancer screening, kidney, and liver transplant programs.

Imaging Services Overview

The Imaging Service offers a wide range of services, including:

• CT, MRI, and ultrasound
• Fluoroscopy and nuclear medicine with PET/SPECT CT
• Conventional x-rays and special procedures
• Interventional Radiology and Neuroradiology

Most services are provided at our Portland campus, while the Vancouver campus in Washington offers general x-ray, MRI, CT, fluoroscopy, and ultrasound services. Our Imaging Service is a national frontrunner in adopting advanced technologies and procedures, such as Spectral CT, Digital PET CT, 4D CT Angio, and artificial intelligence.

Key Responsibilities

We are seeking a physician leader with a robust clinical, administrative, and academic background to:

• Oversee daily operations and maintain clinical activities
• Collaborate on educational and research initiatives with our academic partner
• Demonstrate strong coordination across various programs
• Excel in interdisciplinary teamwork
• Promote ongoing research activities and inter-professional training

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position, operating Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Possess a current, full, and unrestricted medical or surgical license in the U.S.
• Board Certification in Radiology is required
