Physician, Neuropalliative (Berkeley/Castro Valley, CA)
Job Description
We are excited to announce an opening for a full-time Neurologist to join our collaborative team of healthcare professionals dedicated to practicing evidence-based medicine. This role involves providing general neurology services while also establishing a neuro-palliative practice.
The position offers a full-time equivalent (FTE) of 0.8-1.0, primarily focused on an outpatient clinic setting for general neurology.
Our group operates on a shared telephonic call system among eight neurologists, with the option to participate in the neurology hospital consultation service at a local medical center.
Key responsibilities include:
- One day per week in Castro Valley
- Two to three clinic days in Berkeley, which serves as the specialty hub
- One day dedicated to virtual consultations or home visits
We prioritize a healthy work-life balance within a multi-specialty medical group. Our neurology department is extensive, with all clinicians practicing general neurology while also pursuing subspecialty interests, fellowship training, and experience. Each clinician benefits from one-on-one medical assistant support, along with RN and LCSW assistance for specific services.
QualificationsTo be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Neurology
- Experience or training in neuro-palliative care
- Possession of an active and unrestricted California Medical License
- Current DEA license
- While prior experience is preferred, we welcome applications from new graduates
