Job Description

In this role, you'll work as a paraprofessional providing vital assistance within various special education programs—including resource, DCD (Developmental Cognitive Disabilities) center-based, and Ready Set LAUNCH center-based programming. Whether your preference aligns with resource, DCD, or LAUNCH, your commitment will make an immediate difference for students in need of individualized educational support.
Enjoy a stable schedule of 32.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, for the 2026-2027 academic year, beginning in early September and concluding in June.
Key Qualifications:
- Must meet the “Highly Qualified” requirement by either passing the MN Board Highly Qualified Para Exam or holding at least 60 college credits (official transcripts required).
- Experience working with children or young adults in a school or similar setting preferred.
- Willingness to support students with daily living skills, including toileting, as needed.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Adaptability and patience to work within diverse classroom environments.
What You'll Do:
- Assist special education teachers in instructional and non-instructional activities.
- Provide support for students in small groups or one-to-one settings across resource, DCD, or LAUNCH programs.
- Help maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment.
- Aid students with daily needs, fostering independence and inclusion.
- Collaborate with fellow staff to implement individualized education plans.
This contract position offers compensation at $20 per hour and provides a pathway to direct hire after approximately 422 contracted hours. All candidates must provide a resume and the required Highly Qualified documentation to proceed.
