Special Education Teacher | Edison, New Jersey

Step into a rewarding position shaping the academic journey of students as a Special Education Math Teacher! This contract opportunity runs from September 1, 2026, through June 24, 2027, and offers a full-time, 35-hour workweek in a supportive school environment near Edison, NJ.

This role is dedicated to providing specialized mathematics instruction to students with diverse learning needs. You’ll collaborate with education professionals to create a positive, inclusive classroom while delivering curriculum tailored to each student’s abilities.

Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification
• Certification or credit hours in Mathematics required
• Alternatively, candidates with Teacher of the Handicapped credentials and Math credits will be considered
• Previous classroom experience working with students with special needs, preferably in mathematics
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities
• Ability to commit to an onsite schedule for the duration of the contract

Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging math instruction aligned with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Develop lesson plans and modify curriculum to meet student needs
• Monitor progress and adapt teaching methods to maximize learning outcomes
• Foster an encouraging classroom atmosphere to support academic and social-emotional growth
• Maintain open communication with parents, staff, and other stakeholders
• Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and school events as required
