Job Description
Step into a dynamic role supporting K-12 students as an on-site Physical Therapist for the upcoming academic year. This full-time contract position calls for a dedicated professional ready to provide both direct and indirect services to a diverse student caseload across multiple school campuses. Your expertise will play a vital part in helping students improve mobility, achieve functional goals, and succeed within the school environment.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Florida Physical Therapist license is required
- Experience in a school-based setting is strongly preferred but not mandatory
- Flexibility to work itinerantly across multiple schools (typically 2–3 schools per day)
- Proficiency with K-12 populations; some Pre-K support may be included
- Strong collaboration skills for partnering with another PT and a PTA on the team
- Commitment to timely and accurate documentation and adherence to district protocol
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group physical therapy interventions for students, focusing on developing motor skills, enhancing participation, and supporting inclusion
- Conduct thorough evaluations and develop IEP goals, progress monitoring, and relevant reporting
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to integrate therapy and educational objectives
- Maintain up-to-date student records and participate in multi-disciplinary meetings as required
- Travel between assigned schools (transportation provided by candidate)
- Complete onboarding processes in accordance with district policies
