Job Description
An exciting opportunity awaits for skilled Sign Language Interpreters passionate about supporting deaf and hard-of-hearing students in an educational setting. Two full-time, onsite positions are available for the 2026–2027 academic year. In this collaborative school environment, your expertise will ensure students have equitable access to learning and participation in all school activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation throughout the school day, including classroom lessons, assemblies, meetings, and extracurricular events
- Foster open communication between students, teachers, staff, and peers
- Adhere to FERPA and district guidelines to maintain strict confidentiality regarding student information
- Work closely with teachers, special educators, and related service personnel to promote student success
- Review instructional materials in advance to be prepared for all assignments
- Uphold professional standards and ethical guidelines for educational interpreting
Preferred Qualifications:
- Colorado Educational Interpreter Authorization, or eligibility to obtain one
- Associate’s degree or higher in Educational Interpreting, American Sign Language, or a related discipline
- Successful completion of the EIPA Written Examination
- EIPA Performance Score of 3.5+ or current RID (Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf) Certification
- Meets all state and district employment requirements, including background check
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork abilities
This contract role follows a full-time, Monday–Friday, onsite schedule in line with the district’s academic calendar. Candidates with proven educational interpreting experience and strong ASL proficiency are highly regarded.
