Embrace an impactful opportunity as a contract Occupational Therapist supporting students aged 3-22 in educational settings near San Bernardino, CA. This role requires professionals ready to serve diverse caseloads, including mild to severe needs, on a flexible basis. Multiple full-time itinerant positions are available, including extended school year roles and an anticipated maternity leave coverage starting in August and lasting through March.
Qualifications:
- Hold an active California OT license
- Established experience supporting students within California school systems
- Proficient in administering the BOT-3 and Peabody assessments with students ranging in age and ability, particularly those with multiple disabilities
- Ability to independently structure and manage a fluctuating caseload, with the skill to adapt to shifting assessment and consultation needs
- Strong data-analysis skills to effectively address parent concerns and provide informed recommendations on services
- Ability to thrive independently, creating and adjusting your own schedule according to district requirements
- Bilingual Spanish skills are a plus, though not mandatory
Responsibilities:
- Perform student evaluations and ongoing therapy using best practices in school-based occupational therapy
- Design, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans for K-12 students
- Conduct thorough assessments and consult with multidisciplinary teams as cases demand
- Maintain accurate documentation and clear, timely reporting where necessary
- Regularly communicate with staff and families, utilizing data to support all recommendations
- Take initiative as an itinerant therapist, proactively seeking solutions and supports in the field
