Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract role supporting students as a Speech-Language Pathologist in a vibrant educational setting. This itinerant position will allow you to make a meaningful impact across three schools and a diverse caseload while working collaboratively with faculty, staff, and families. You’ll provide essential speech and language services, fostering student growth and communication skills.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
- Valid ASHA SLP License
- Professional Educator Alabama SLP Certificate (verification link available)
- Experience in a school-based SLP role, with familiarity supporting students in Special Education settings
- Strong organization and communication skills, able to balance on-site responsibilities across multiple locations
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Primary Responsibilities:
- Serve an approximate caseload of 60 students as an itinerant SLP between three campuses: Shelby County High, Columbiana Middle, and Helena Intermediate
- Assess, diagnose, and provide therapy for students with speech and language disorders
- Develop and implement individualized education program (IEP) goals and track progress
- Collaborate with educators, families, and other professionals to support student success
- Maintain accurate records of assessments, therapy sessions, and communication
- Participate in IEP meetings and professional development as needed
This is an on-site contract position scheduled for 37.5 hours weekly, running from early August through mid-December. You’ll have the opportunity to meaningfully impact students from diverse backgrounds and be a crucial part of their educational journey.
