Qualifications:
- Holds an Education Specialist Instruction Credential in Deaf & Hard of Hearing, or a valid California Special Education Credential authorizing instruction for deaf and hard of hearing students
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Demonstrated experience or training working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Strong communication skills and an approachable, inclusive teaching style
- Ability to collaborate effectively with school staff, families, and other service providers
Role Responsibilities:
- Create, adapt, and deliver individualized lessons designed to meet each student’s unique needs
- Assess students’ skills and progress, adjusting instructional strategies as necessary
- Advocate for students in IEP meetings and keep accurate, timely documentation
- Collaborate with general education teachers to facilitate full classroom participation
- Provide resources, support, and technical expertise to colleagues and families as needed
- Establish a welcoming, accessible classroom environment
This is an onsite-only position with a 37.5-hour workweek. The assignment is set within the school calendar, allowing for a focused and consistent schedule.
