Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Sunnyvale, CA

Qualifications:

• Holds an Education Specialist Instruction Credential in Deaf & Hard of Hearing, or a valid California Special Education Credential authorizing instruction for deaf and hard of hearing students
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
• Demonstrated experience or training working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Strong communication skills and an approachable, inclusive teaching style
• Ability to collaborate effectively with school staff, families, and other service providers

Role Responsibilities:

• Create, adapt, and deliver individualized lessons designed to meet each student’s unique needs
• Assess students’ skills and progress, adjusting instructional strategies as necessary
• Advocate for students in IEP meetings and keep accurate, timely documentation
• Collaborate with general education teachers to facilitate full classroom participation
• Provide resources, support, and technical expertise to colleagues and families as needed
• Establish a welcoming, accessible classroom environment

This is an onsite-only position with a 37.5-hour workweek. The assignment is set within the school calendar, allowing for a focused and consistent schedule.
