School Speech Language Pathologist - Birmingham, AL

We're looking for contract Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) to serve across three schools, providing essential support as part of a dedicated itinerant team. This rewarding opportunity allows you to work closely with Special Education staff and a diverse caseload, fostering communication skills and helping students reach their full academic potential.

What you bring:

• Active ASHA CCC-SLP certification
• Current Professional Educator Alabama SLP certification (can be verified online)
• Experience in school-based settings, preferably with itinerant or multi-site roles
• Strong ability to organize caseloads and adapt to varied school environments
• Compassion for students with diverse backgrounds and communication needs
• Drive to collaborate with educators, families, and interdisciplinary teams

Key duties:

• Provide high-quality speech-language interventions for approximately 60 students across three locations
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs for students with communication disorders
• Conduct assessments, reevaluations, and progress monitoring as required
• Travel between Shelby County High, Columbiana Middle, and Helena Intermediate as part of your weekly schedule
• Collaborate regularly with Special Education teams, classroom teachers, and families
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with district and state guidelines
