School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) - Denver, Colorado
Job Description
Exciting opportunity available for a skilled Registered Nurse to support a vibrant early childhood setting in the Denver area. This contract role centers on providing care to approximately 120 students, ages 3–5, nearly half of whom have Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and significant health needs. The position is based at a single campus with a dedicated private office, and you’ll be part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary team of special education, mental health, and therapy professionals.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Colorado Registered Nurse license and current CPR certification
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or at least three years of practical nursing experience
- Eligibility for—or possession of—a Colorado special services provider license with the appropriate endorsement
- Three years of recent clinical practice experience, preferably working with young children or in educational settings
- Commitment to maintain compliance with all credentialing and background procedures
Responsibilities:
- Deliver nursing care and respond promptly to student health calls throughout the school day
- Support training and delegation for student health needs, ensuring safe practices are in place
- Contribute to the development and implementation of student health and safety plans
- Actively participate in the IEP process alongside other service specialists
- Conduct vision, hearing, and dental screenings for all students
- Maintain meticulous student health records and ensure compliance with local and state regulations
This is a full-time, onsite position, Monday through Friday, from July 31, 2026, through May 26, 2027. As an essential member of the school community, you will play a pivotal role in supporting young learners’ health and fostering a safe, inclusive environment during their formative years.
