Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and other signing methods as required by student's IEPs
• Valid certification as a Sign Language Interpreter, or eligibility to obtain required state credentials
• Previous experience interpreting in educational settings strongly preferred
• Understanding of confidentiality and ethical guidelines for interpreters in schools
• Excellent interpersonal communication and teamwork skills
• Adaptability and commitment to fostering inclusive learning experiences

Responsibilities:

• Provide interpretation services during classroom instruction, school events, meetings, and other activities
• Facilitate clear communication between students, teachers, and staff
• Assist in educational and social environments to promote student participation and engagement
• Support the implementation of students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Maintain accurate records of services provided and adhere to school policies
• Collaborate with special education staff, teachers, and families as needed
