Key Qualifications:

  • Current Standard Professional Certificate required
  • Deaf/Hard of Hearing (K-12) Endorsement must be completed
  • Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Background or experience in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education for K-12 students
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language highly valued
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Flexibility to work on-site; virtual candidates may be considered

Role Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
  • Modify and adapt classroom materials for accessibility
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff
  • Conduct ongoing student assessments and communicate progress to families
  • Foster an inclusive, encouraging classroom environment that nurtures student confidence and growth
  • Support students’ social and emotional well-being
  • Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal education guidelines for special education
