What You'll Bring:

• Valid Special Education Licensure for Alabama (verification available on the ALSDE portal)
• Certification in K-6 for the inclusion need; 6-12 certification accepted for self-contained and inclusion roles
• Experience or confidence working in an inclusion setting (K-6) and/or self-contained classrooms (6-12)
• Deep commitment to differentiated instruction and individualized support plans
• Strong interpersonal skills for communicating with students, families, and staff
• Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and advocate effectively for student needs

Responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored special education services to meet IEP goals in inclusion (at an elementary school) or self-contained settings (at an intermediate school)
• Partner with general education teachers to adapt curriculum and facilitate inclusive practices
• Monitor, document, and report on student growth and progress toward learning objectives
• Engage families and caregivers in the educational journey
• Foster an environment of acceptance, encouragement, and academic achievement
• Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal special education regulations

Contract highlights include a full 37.5 hours per week throughout the school year from early August to late May.
