RN - Diagnostic Cardiology

Schedule & Assignment Details

• Shift: 10-hour Day Shift (40 hours/week)
• Shift Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:45 AM – 4:45 PM (1-hour lunch)
• Clinical Interview: Not required
• On-Call/Call Back: None
• Weekend Rotation: Rotational weekends based on unit needs (Echo Tech, RN, and EP Tech)
• Holiday Requirement: As required by the unit
• Floating Requirement: May be required to float to satellite sites within the Wake Region.

Minimum Years of Experience required? 2 years
Echo tech: Minimum 2 years
RN: 2 years with Cardiac experience
EP: 2 years
Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes

Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
Heart Failure and Cardiac Diagnostics, advanced – TTE, TEE, Stress Echo, Dobutamine Stress Echo studies
Chemotherapy Evaluations
Renal Transplant Evaluations

Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance:
PALS (preferred)
ACLS (preferred)
ACLS (preferred)
RN: BLS; ACLS
Cardiac Sonographer (Echo Tech): BLS; RDCS (ARDMS) OR RCS or Client (Advanced Cardiac Sonographer through CCI)
Exercise Physiologist (EP): BLS; national certification not required
Cardiovascular Tech: BLS, ACLS, CCT (Certified Cardiac Tech through CCI) required

Skills required:
RN: TEEs, stress testing, EKG interpretation, IV management, cardioversion, mild sedation experience, infusion

Support within the Department:
Dedicated Cardiac Ultrasound Educator and Chief Sonographer
19 Echo s (including satellites)
5 RNs
2 Eps
