Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with TVI endorsement
  • Demonstrated experience working with visually impaired students in educational settings
  • Strong knowledge of adaptive technologies and accessible instructional strategies
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities across multidisciplinary groups
  • Motivated self-starter with effective time-management and organizational skills

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction to students with visual impairments across elementary and middle school grades
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to create individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Travel between campuses within the district to offer tailored support
  • Adapt and modify curriculum materials to ensure accessibility for all learners
  • Conduct ongoing assessments and develop progress reports
