School Psychologist - Newark, New Jersey

An exciting contract opportunity is available for a dedicated School Psychologist to make a meaningful impact in an elementary school setting near Newark, NJ. This role places you at the heart of student support, working directly with young learners and collaborating with a caring educational team. The position spans from September 2nd to January 1st, offering a consistent weekday schedule from 8:30 am to 3:45 pm.

Required and Preferred Qualifications:

• Valid certification as a School Psychologist
• School Social Worker certificate strongly preferred
• Experience in elementary education settings is highly desirable
• Strong skills in communication, collaboration, and counseling
• Competence in case management and assessment practices within schools

Core Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of 25-30 students, providing comprehensive psychological services
• Offer direct counseling to approximately 15 students as designated cases
• Conduct assessments, interpret results, and develop intervention plans tailored to individual student needs
• Consult and collaborate with families, teachers, and multidisciplinary staff to promote positive educational outcomes
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Support the school’s overall mission by fostering a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all students
