Step into a pivotal role supporting students in specialized programs as a Special Education Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. These contract opportunities are within a renowned educational consortium serving multiple programs in Lehigh County and the surrounding area. Assignments begin August 10, 2026, and run through June 11, 2027, following the local school calendar. Locations include Autism Support, Multiple Disabilities Support, and Emotional Support classrooms, each tailored to unique learner needs. All roles require candidates to reside within a 35-minute commute of their assigned site.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Pennsylvania Special Education certification (required or preferred, depending on assignment)
  • Proven classroom teaching in special education settings
  • Confident developing and implementing IEPs
  • Adept in classroom management and behavioral supports
  • Experience collaborating with paraprofessionals, related service teams, and families
  • Specialized experience (preferred):
    • Autism programming/evidence-based interventions (ABA strategies, AAC, BIPs)
    • Support for students with significant/multiple disabilities (adapted curriculum, personal care)
    Emotional/behavioral support (trauma-informed practices, crisis prevention, de-escalation)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver targeted instruction and comprehensive classroom management
  • Implement individualized goals and accommodations per IEPs
  • Foster communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
  • Support social-emotional growth and independence for all students
  • Adapt materials & strategies for diverse learning and behavioral needs
