Make a positive impact on students’ lives as a skilled professional supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in an educational setting. This full-time contract opportunity offers you the chance to work in a dynamic, collaborative school environment, providing much-needed support across multiple schools in the area. You’ll have the opportunity to travel between a middle school and two elementary schools, offering varied experiences and exposure to different age groups, while playing a vital role in students’ educational journeys.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Deaf and Hard of Hearing endorsement required
  • Experience teaching or supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing students preferred
  • Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Flexibility to travel between schools and adapt to itinerant scheduling
  • Ability to foster an inclusive, supportive learning environment for students with diverse needs

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instruction and support services to students with hearing impairments at both the middle and elementary school levels
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to develop and implement effective individualized education programs (IEPs)
  • Monitor student progress, maintain documentation, and assess needs throughout the school year
  • Advocate for accessibility and inclusive practices within the school communities
  • Provide consultative support and training to staff on best practices for working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
