Location: Akron/Canton, OH
Job Type: Full-Time or Part-Time (Onsite)
Schedule: Monday-Friday (Approximately 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM)
Practice Setting: School-Based (Preschool & School-Aged Students)
We are seeking a compassionate Occupational Therapist to join an established school-based therapy team serving preschool and school-aged students throughout the Akron/Canton, OH area. The Occupational Therapist will evaluate students, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide therapeutic interventions that support participation and success within the educational environment. Key Responsibilities:Evaluate students to determine occupational therapy needs and eligibility for services.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and measurable therapy goals.
Provide direct occupational therapy services to preschool and school-aged students.
Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute to goal development.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, administrators, and multidisciplinary team members.
Recommend adaptive equipment, classroom accommodations, and therapeutic strategies.
Monitor student progress and modify treatment plans as needed.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with school, state, and federal regulations.
Educate families and school staff on strategies to promote student independence and functional success.
Travel between multiple school sites within the Akron/Canton area as needed.
Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
Active Ohio Occupational Therapist license or eligibility to obtain licensure prior to start date.
Previous pediatric or school-based experience preferred but not required.
New graduates are encouraged to apply.
Current CPR certification preferred.
NBCOT certification preferred.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary educational team.
