Desired Qualifications:
- Current certification in Special Education (appropriate to the state’s requirements)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field
- Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate various learning styles
- Previous experience in a school setting is preferred
Core Responsibilities:
- Design, adapt, and deliver lesson plans tailored to the individual needs of students with disabilities
- Develop and revise IEPs in collaboration with parents, support staff, and fellow educators
- Track student performance data and adjust interventions for optimal outcomes
- Foster a supportive, inclusive atmosphere that encourages student participation and progress
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student achievements and challenges
- Collaborate with general education teachers and other specialists to ensure accessibility and appropriate modifications
