Special Education Teacher - Norristown, PA

Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher by supporting children with diverse learning needs in local community preschools. This contract role offers the opportunity to collaborate with dedicated educators while delivering individualized instruction that empowers students to thrive.

In this itinerant position, you will travel to multiple preschool sites, serving a caseload of approximately 30 young learners. The schedule runs Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM, totaling 35 hours each week.

Qualifications:

• Active Pennsylvania certification in PK-4 and/or special education (emergency permits will not be accepted)
• Demonstrated experience or interest in early childhood special education
• Strong organizational and communication skills to manage a varied caseload in different locations
• Ability to collaborate effectively with school staff and families
• Commitment to providing compassionate, individualized support

Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction to preschool-aged children in community settings based on their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Travel between assigned preschools within the region to serve the caseload
• Maintain accurate documentation on student progress and services provided
• Work closely with classroom staff, therapists, and families to coordinate support
• Participate in team meetings and ongoing professional development, with guidance and training provided to start
• Adapt teaching approaches to meet students’ unique learning needs
