Welder / Fitter (Erie)
Job Description
We are currently seeking 1st and 2nd shift Welder / Fitter for plate and structural fabrication work. $19.00- $23.00 ( $2.00 2nd shift differential)

- Basic knowledge of fitting plate, structural material and pipe utilizing shop drawings, specifications and travelers \n
- Use torches to cut/cope beams, cut/bevel plates and heat straighten parts \n
- Knowledge of fitting and welding various materials; carbon steel, stainless steel, inconel and aluminum \n
- Welding processes may include; Flux-cored Arc Welding (FCAW), Metal-cored Arc Welding (MCAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG), Shielded Metal Arc Welding (Stick), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (TIG) and Submerged Arc Weld (SAW) \n
- Perform welding in the flat, horizontal and vertical positions \n
- Produce consistent welds in accordance with shop drawings and customer specifications \n
- Follow welding procedure specifications (WPS) to set up welding machines and check weld sizes with company-issued weld gages \n
- Run overhead cranes and forklifts when necessary to move parts throughout the shop \n

- Ability to pass various types of weld tests \n
- Ability to understand standard welding symbols \n
- Basic math skills \n
- 1 - 3 years of related experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment \n
- Crane experience \n
- Forklift experience \n
- Trade certification or equivalent experience \n
- Must be authorized to work in the US \n
