Job Opportunity: Hematology/Oncology Physician

Our organization is actively looking for a Board Eligible/Board Certified Hematology/Oncology Physician to join a well-established and stable team in Abingdon, VA. This position offers the chance to be part of a supportive medical community with a dedicated administration. The facility features onsite Radiation Oncology equipped with TruBeam and SBRT capabilities, along with advanced robotic systems such as da Vinci and Ion. Additionally, there is an active navigation program, an American Cancer Society Resource Room, and collaborations with non-profit organizations like Susan G. Komen and Cancer Outreach. The local medical community is robust and aligned with our organization, providing strong support for this service.

Support Structure

The incoming physician will collaborate with two other Hematology/Oncology Physicians and three Advanced Practice Providers (APPs). The APPs will oversee infusion services and manage acute and symptomatic patients under the direct supervision of the physician team. A large and diverse support staff, including APPs, RNs, dietary specialists, navigators, schedulers, and a financial team, will be available. The practice includes a fully equipped infusion room and operates as a typical outpatient oncology facility. Pharmacy services are managed by a hospital-based team, which includes an oncology-boarded pharmacist. Additionally, there is strong support from specialists in Radiation Oncology, Surgery, Pulmonology, Gastroenterology, Urology, OB/GYN, Pathology, and Radiology (including Interventional Radiology). A solid primary care cohort is also present, with Internal Medicine and Family Medicine residents training at our facility.
