Job Description
Bring your expertise in social-emotional wellness to a supportive educational environment working with students in both elementary and high school settings. As a Mental Health Specialist for the 2025/2026 academic year, you will collaborate closely with general education students, offering both individual and group support to foster positive mental health and behavior. You'll also have the opportunity to contribute to professional learning initiatives and help implement positive behavior programs within classrooms and across buildings.
There are currently two openings in elementary settings and one in a high school environment—perfect for those passionate about making a widespread impact.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree required—candidates without a master's will not be considered.
- Holds one or more of the following Michigan credentials:
- Licensed or limited licensed master’s level psychologist (or under appropriate supervision)
- MDE credentialed master’s level school psychologist
- Licensed or limited licensed master’s level social worker (or under LMSW supervision)
- Licensed or limited licensed master’s level marriage and family therapist
- Licensed or limited licensed master’s level professional counselor (or under LPC supervision)
- School Counselor License (SCL), Michigan Teaching Certificate with School Counselor endorsement, Preliminary or Temporary School Counselor Credential (with path toward LPC credentialing per state guidelines)
- Active LARA License or eligibility to obtain per Michigan regulations
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct social-emotional and behavioral interventions to students
- Collaborate with teachers and school staff to support classroom strategies
- Facilitate group sessions and develop individualized plans as needed
- Contribute to schoolwide positive behavior and professional learning initiatives
