Insight Global is seeking a Field Service Technician (CNC) for a leading machine tool distribution and service provider. This candidate will play a critical role in supporting manufacturing clients by installing, maintaining, and repairing advanced CNC equipment across a multi-state territory. This is a highly hands-on, field-based position that combines technical expertise with customer interaction.

Technicians will work on a wide range of mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring minimal downtime for customers while delivering high-quality service. The role offers strong autonomy, extensive training (including potential international exposure), and a clear career path for growth. Ideal candidates are self-motivated problem solvers with a passion for hands-on work and the flexibility to travel regionally.

Must-Haves:

  • 5+ years of hands-on technical repair experience (CNC, mechanical, electrical, or similar field) OR strong equivalent field experience
  • Background in troubleshooting/repair (diesel tech, HVAC, industrial maintenance, appliance repair, etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, drawings, and technical manuals
  • Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude (safety-critical)
  • Excellent communication skills (must be able to clearly communicate with customers and team)
  • Comfortable with 50–75% regional travel (driving required; some flights for training)
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to work in field-based environments
  • High school diploma or GED

Plusses:

  • Direct CNC machine repair experience
  • Technical schooling (Mechatronics, Machine Tool Technology, Engineering programs, etc.)
  • Experience with preventative maintenance programs
  • Experience working in manufacturing or machine tool environments
  • Microsoft Office proficiency for documentation/reporting
  • Willingness/ability to travel internationally for factory training (Spain, Italy, Japan)
  • Prior field service technician experience
