Embark on a fulfilling contract opportunity as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) supporting K-12 students in a dynamic special education setting. This full-time, onsite position is scheduled to begin in August, following new hire orientation from 8/12–8/14, with tentative 2026–2027 school year dates. You’ll work standard school hours, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM, maintaining a balanced workday and the satisfaction of serving a low caseload. The exact grade levels and student roster will be determined, allowing for flexibility and professional enrichment.

Qualifications:

  • Current and active Illinois COTA license (required; please submit with your application)
  • Experience or interest in working within a special education setting preferred
  • Familiarity with the unique needs of K-12 students
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to collaborate with educators and other therapy professionals

Responsibilities:

  • Provide occupational therapy support to students in individual and group settings as directed by supervising OTs
  • Document progress and maintain accurate student records according to district guidelines
  • Support classroom staff with accommodations and strategies for students’ success
  • Assist with the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to case consultations
