Make a meaningful difference as a Speech-Language Pathologist serving students across three school campuses in an engaging, supportive atmosphere. This contract opportunity runs from early August through mid-December, offering a dynamic schedule with approximately 37.5 hours per week. As an itinerant SLP, you’ll split your time between Shelby County High, Columbiana Middle, and Helena Intermediate—providing valuable services to a diverse caseload of around 60 students.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
  • Valid Alabama Professional Educator SLP Certification (can be verified at the official Alabama certification portal)
  • Previous experience in a school setting preferred, especially with itinerant or split-site roles
  • Strong organization and communication skills; able to effectively manage a multi-campus caseload
  • Passion for supporting students with diverse speech and language needs

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and group speech and language therapy services as outlined in students’ IEPs
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to enhance student learning outcomes
  • Conduct thorough assessments and contribute to eligibility determinations
  • Document progress and maintain timely, accurate records consistent with state and district policies
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute expertise for student planning across multiple campuses
  • Serve as a resource for speech and language development to school communities
