Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the vibrant North Houston area. This role, beginning August 12, 2026 and continuing through May 28, 2027, is set in an educational setting, where you’ll play an essential part in helping students find their voices and achieve their communication goals. Full-time hours (37.5 per week) ensure you have the chance to form meaningful connections with students while making a measurable impact across North, Northeast, and South sections of the district. Most assignments will be at one primary school, though itinerant roles may be available.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
- Current (or eligibility for) state licensure as an SLP
- ASHA certification (CCC-SLP) is preferred
- Recent Clinical Fellows are encouraged to apply
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Enthusiasm for working within K-12 educational environments
- Strong communication and organizational skills
What You'll Do:
- Conduct comprehensive speech, language, and communication assessments
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for students
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, families, and support staff
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student support plans
- Adjust approaches to address a range of needs across all age groups
- Contribute to a welcoming and inclusive school community
