Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity serving elementary students as a Speech-Language Pathologist in a welcoming, collaborative school setting near the scenic Oceanside, CA area. This assignment begins mid-August and extends through November 3, 2026, providing coverage for a colleague on leave. Work alongside a supportive fellow SLP at an elementary site, primarily with Resource Specialist Program (RSP) students and some involvement in Special Day Class (SDC) – excluding moderate/severe cases.
This in-person position requires a confident, experienced SLP with a background in public school settings. Enjoy a structured work week of 37.5 hours, with a protected, duty-free 30-minute lunch apart from students each day.
Key Qualifications:
- Hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
- Minimum two years of recent experience in public schools
- Skilled providing speech/language services for elementary-aged students
- Experience with RSP and SDC caseloads preferred
- Ability to work effectively as part of a dynamic, collaborative special education team
- Committed to in-person, on-site service provision
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group speech-language therapy services to elementary students, focusing on RSP and SDC populations as assigned
- Conduct assessments, interpret results, and develop effective, comprehensive treatment plans
- Collaborate regularly with the onsite SLP, classroom teachers, and special education staff
- Keep clear and thorough documentation in line with school requirements
- Foster positive, productive, and supportive relationships with students and families
- Contribute to IEP meetings and team discussions as needed
