Lab Technician

The candidate will perform routine laboratory testing, follow documented procedures, maintain accurate records, and support a safe and clean lab environment. Work may occur in a feed mill area and will require tolerance for heat and dust. Immediate start is preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Test materials or products using standard laboratory methods and techniques.
• Follow prescribed procedures and document results for batches or units.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and report any malfunctions.
• Notify production and management of any failure conditions observed during testing.
• Perform general lab housekeeping including washing equipment, sweeping, mopping, and wiping surfaces.
• Work safely in feed mill conditions with exposure to heat and dust.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Good logic and reasoning skills with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Intermediate or higher Microsoft Excel skills.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Effective communication in one-on-one and group settings.
• Methodical approach to work and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Good math skills and accurate recordkeeping.
• Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds.
• Knowledge and compliance with all safety guidelines.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in quality control or laboratory environments.
• Experience in manufacturing or feed mill operations.
