Exciting opportunities are available for contract Special Education professionals passionate about making a difference in the lives of students. Work onsite with a dynamic, supportive team across two school settings, focusing on providing individualized education and support for students with diverse learning needs during the 2026-2027 school year.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Active and valid Alabama Special Education (SPED) licensure (can be verified via the ALSDE certification portal)
• For the Inclusion position at Montevallo Elementary: K-6 SPED Certification required
• For Self-Contained positions at Calera Intermediate: 6-12 SPED Certification acceptable, K-6 also suitable for inclusion
• Previous experience working in special education settings preferred
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
• Commitment to fostering inclusive and supportive learning environments

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instructional support to students in both inclusion and self-contained classroom settings
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs and goals
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to ensure comprehensive student support
• Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to accommodate a variety of learning styles and abilities
• Maintain accurate records, collect data, and monitor student progress throughout the school year
• Participate in professional meetings and ongoing training sessions
