Job Roles and Responsibilities
Manage all accounting department operations and supervise accounting staff.
Prepare monthly and annual financial statements, forecasts, and financial reports.
Lead annual budgeting and monthly forecasting processes.
Analyze budget variances and provide financial recommendations.
Oversee AP, AR, payroll, general ledger, job costing, and cash flow.
Prepare and maintain work-in-progress (WIP) reports.
Coordinate annual tax preparation and financial audits with external CPA firms.
Ensure timely filing of local, state, and federal tax returns.
Manage fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
Process monthly sales commission reports.
Maintain adequate accounting controls and internal procedures.
Oversee risk management, insurance, bonding, and financial compliance.
Manage banking relationships and financial institutions.
Support ERP implementation, conversion, and optimization.
Provide financial analysis to support business decisions.
Ensure confidentiality of financial and company information.
Qualifications and Certifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA or CMA preferred.
Minimum 5+ years of hands-on construction accounting management experience.
Minimum 3+ years supervising accounting personnel.
Experience with job cost accounting and WIP reporting.
Prior ERP implementation or ERP conversion experience.
Strong knowledge of GAAP.
Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and financial reporting.
Knowledge of construction estimating and job costing.
