Entry Level Thermal Blanket Tech
Job Description
About: Technicians will be responsible for taking part in the production of satellites to ensure insulation is properly fitted and structured onto the necessary equipment. They will be working in the lab reading drawings and specs to match the satellites' requirements.
Openings: 6-8 openings
Duration: 6-months
Location: Lanham, MD — on-site 5x per week
Interview: One and Done Onsite
· 30-minute interview blocks from 1-4 on Monday and Tuesday next week
Authorization: US Citizen
Pay Rate:
· Highschool Diploma: $18-19hr
· College Degree: $20-22hr
· Thermal Blanket experience: $23hr
Training: 1 week of shadowing a senior tech
Must‐Haves (Non‐Negotiable):
· HS Diploma + interest in the aerospace industry
· Attention to detail
· Professional, will show up on time and commit to the work for at least 6-months
· Ability to stand for 8-10 hours at a time with 30 minute-1 hour breaks
· Willingness and ability to work weekends and OT as necessary
Day to Day:
· Complete 2.5-3 blankets a day
· Create custom thermal insulation blankets using engineering specifications, templates, and detailed work instructions
· Design and integrate aerospace-grade materials, including multilayer insulation (MLI), foils, and reflective films
· Verify finished products through dimensional inspections, fit checks, and quality reviews to ensure compliance with engineering standards
· Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and manufacturing documentation to support accurate fabrication
· Work alongside engineers, technicians, and quality personnel to troubleshoot issues and improve production efficiency
· Document material usage, production activities, and inspection results to ensure traceability and configuration control
