Job Description
Bring your passion for supporting students to a rewarding contract opportunity as an Autism or Emotional Support Interventionist for the 2026–2027 school year. These hands-on roles are available in Carbon and Lehigh County, where you will work in highly structured settings and collaborate closely with educators, behavior specialists, therapists, and related service providers to help students thrive academically, behaviorally, and emotionally.
Your assignments will begin with limited hours on Opening Day and Summer Academy (starting August 10, 2026), then transition to regular school hours—32.5–35 hours per week—aligned to the district’s academic calendar and your specific role. Interviews will be conducted in person, and placements are first-come, first-served.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or Associate’s degree with at least one year of relevant experience (three years preferred)
- Prior work with students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, emotional or behavioral disabilities, or in settings such as ABA therapy, special education, or behavioral health
- Strong behavior management and de-escalation skills
- Ability to support students with intensive behavioral and emotional needs
- Calm, dependable, and collaborative professional approach
- Comfortable with personal care support when needed
- Basic computer proficiency necessary for tracking student progress
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver 1:1 and small group academic and behavioral support in autism or emotional support classrooms
- Implement individualized behavior plans, support IEP goals, and employ evidence-based strategies
- Foster positive, therapeutic, and structured classroom environments
- Work alongside teachers, therapists, and mental health professionals
- Collect and report data for progress monitoring
