Job Description
Make a daily impact supporting students as a contract paraprofessional for the 2026-2027 school year in a collaborative elementary school setting. In this rewarding role, you’ll assist classroom educators, provide individualized support, and help create a positive learning environment. Positions are available in resource programming, Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD) centerbased programming, and Ready Set LAUNCH programming. There is an expectation that all support staff assist with toileting and personal care as needed.
Preferred experience or interest in specific programming (resource, DCD, or LAUNCH) can be indicated during the application process, ensuring a great fit for your skills and preferences.
Qualifications:
- Must be “Highly Qualified” through one of the following:
- Passing the MN Paraeducator Exam (with documented score)
- Completion of at least 60 college credits (official transcripts required)
- Able and willing to assist students with daily care, including toileting
- Passion for working with children and supporting diverse learning needs
- Reliable, professional, and collaborative
- Resume and “Highly Qualified” documentation must be submitted for consideration
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted academic and behavioral support to students under teacher direction
- Encourage positive student engagement throughout daily activities
- Contribute to a respectful, inclusive classroom climate
- Assist with personal care needs
- Support implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs)
This contract assignment is 32.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from September 8, 2026, to June 10, 2027. Hourly pay for this assignment is set at $20.
