Location : Buffalo, NY

Job Summary & Responsibilities:
The Foster Care Home Finder is responsible for recruiting, training, certifying, and supporting foster and adoptive families. This role guides prospective foster parents through the certification and re-certification process and supports successful placement of children in approved homes.
Key responsibilities include:
Recruit and engage prospective foster and adoptive families through community outreach and recruitment activities.
Screen applicants and ensure compliance with agency, county, and state regulations.
Conduct home visits, interviews, and foster/adoptive home studies.
Complete required documentation, assessments, clearances, and regulatory paperwork.
Maintain accurate case records, certification information, training records, and re-certification requirements.
Assist with matching children with appropriate foster families and coordinate placement communication.
Provide ongoing support, advocacy, and resources to foster parents.
Develop relationships with foster families, caseworkers, community partners, and service providers.
Facilitate and co-train prospective foster families in required training programs.
Participate in meetings, case reviews, family conferences, and required professional development activities.
Ensure adherence to child welfare policies, regulations, and best practices.
Education, Licensure, and Experience:
Master's Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or a closely related field required.
LMSW, LCSW, or LMHC license preferred.
Professional licensure preferred.
1-2 years of experience working with children and families required; extensive child welfare experience preferred.
Knowledge of foster care regulations, child welfare systems, and community resources preferred.
Strong assessment, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and build positive relationships with diverse populations.
Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to demonstrate empathy, patience, advocacy, and cultural sensitivity.
