Job Description
Step into an impactful role serving young learners as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) for the 2026-2027 academic year. This onsite contract position is based near Plainview, Texas—approximately an hour and 45 minutes from the West NM border. You’ll be supporting early childhood special education through first-grade students, providing essential speech and language services across a range of needs, such as articulation, language development, and pragmatic skills. Notably, there are no augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices within this caseload.
Ideal candidates show a strong commitment to student progress and are comfortable collaborating with school teams. Supervision is provided for Clinical Fellows (CF), supporting growth and professional development.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid SLPA license with Texas state requirements met
- Open to applicants with SLP-CCC, SLP-CFY, or school-based SLPA backgrounds
- Experience supporting children with diverse speech and language needs in a school setting
- Skilled at developing and implementing individual and group therapy activities
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with teachers, families, and other professionals
- Ability to document student progress and maintain confidentiality
Your Responsibilities Include:
- Delivering direct speech and language therapy services to ECSE through 1st grade students
- Assisting with student assessments and collaborative goal-setting
- Documenting therapy sessions and communicating progress with supervising SLP and educational teams
- Supporting students’ communication skills to foster classroom participation and overall learning
- Following established plans and protocols under the guidance of a licensed SLP
Candidates will enjoy a stable schedule with 37.5 hours of work each week for the full school year and access to supervision for those completing their Clinical Fellowship.
