In this contract position, you’ll provide essential instruction and support to high school students across multiple locations near Scottsdale, AZ during the upcoming school year (August 3 – May 21). Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Arizona Standard Secondary Teaching License.
  • K-12 Certificate or endorsement in Special Education: Visually Impaired.
  • Possession of an active IVP Fingerprint Card.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired or similar role in K-12 settings.
  • Familiarity with developing and implementing individualized learning plans and adaptive technology.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach with multidisciplinary teams.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality instruction to students with visual impairments, fostering independence and academic growth.
  • Develop, adapt, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored for each learner’s specific needs.
  • Consult with fellow educators and support staff to create accessible educational opportunities.
  • Maintain detailed records and participate in IEP meetings as needed.
  • Offer guidance in the use of Braille, tactile materials, and assistive technology.
  • Support students both onsite and potentially through virtual learning as determined by program needs.
