Job Description

Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary students as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP-CCC) near Carlsbad, CA. This position commences mid-August and continues through November 3, 2026, providing crucial coverage during a leave of absence. You'll be part of a supportive environment alongside another dedicated SLP, with a primary focus on Resource Specialist Program (RSP) students and some Special Day Class (SDC) involvement—without the challenges of moderate to severe caseloads, as those are managed by your on-site colleague.

What makes this role unique? Your expertise in a public school setting will be valued from day one, allowing you to collaborate and make a tangible difference for young learners. In-person engagement is required, as the district maintains a strong preference for onsite therapy to foster genuine rapport and communication development.

Ideal candidates will bring:

  • Active SLP license and Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)
  • Substantial experience working within public K-12 schools
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a team and communicate clearly with staff and families
  • Comfort with elementary age groups and diverse abilities
  • Flexibility, resourcefulness, and a student-centered mindset
  • Willingness to be on-site for all duties (no virtual options)

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting speech-language assessments and developing individualized treatment plans
  • Delivering high-quality therapy for RSP and select SDC students
  • Contributing to IEP meetings and ongoing documentation
  • Coordinating closely with other school staff and families
  • Maintaining compliance with all district and federal regulations
  • Managing a caseload with organizational skill and compassion

This contract provides a consistent 37.5-hour work week, including a duty-free 30-minute lunch each day so you can recharge and maintain a healthy work-life balance.

Take the next step in your SLP journey and make a significant impact on a dynamic elementary site. Apply today to help shape brighter futures!

Compensation for this position ranges from $47.53 to $67.53. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals. Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
