Job Summary

A healthcare services team in Shreveport, LA is seeking a Medical Care Clerk for a temp-to-hire opportunity with specialized training in durable medical equipment, orthotics, and cranial remolding care. This is an excellent fit for a Medical Assistant or direct care professional who wants to build a niche healthcare skill set in a growing area of patient care.

Key Responsibilities

- Train in cranial remolding care, including working with babies, new mothers, and families in a compassionate and professional manner.
- Assist with patient care activities related to durable medical equipment and orthotic devices.
- Learn OrthoFitter duties and participate in cross-training for hospital call support.
- Use basic computer systems to document patient information, appointments, and service details accurately.
- Support device adjustments and fittings, including basic use of hand tools when needed.
- Provide courteous, patient-focused service while maintaining a caring and professional approach.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay: $31,200 per year.
- Starting pay: $15+ per hour, depending on experience.
- Job type: Temp-to-hire.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- On-call rotation: Every 4 to 5 weeks, 24/7, for hospital calls after training.
