Embark on a rewarding opportunity supporting preschool learners as a Speech-Language Pathologist in a dynamic school environment near Chicago, IL. This contract position spans August 19 through November 11 and offers flexibility, with schedules available for two to four days per week. Your day will run from 8:10 AM to 3:20 PM, allowing for balance and structure. You’ll have a shared office space and work primarily at the Madison site, with a few Pre-K classrooms also located at the Lincoln building. Participation in Tuesday meetings is essential, as is delivering a comprehensive range of speech services—from direct speech-only interventions to working with self-contained classrooms.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC)
  • Previous experience in a school setting, ideally with preschool (Pre-K)
  • Familiarity with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems
  • Skilled in conducting speech-language evaluations and participating in PBAs
  • Collaborative mindset for working closely with district SLP staff
  • Flexibility to provide services across multiple locations as needed

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver speech and language therapy to a caseload of approximately 35 students, adapting approaches for varying needs
  • Develop and implement intervention plans that support both individual and group progress
  • Administer assessments and contribute to the evaluation process
  • Provide expertise and coaching for staff and families on AAC and other strategies
  • Attend and participate in regular team meetings, with a specific emphasis on Tuesdays
  • Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment across both Madison and Lincoln buildings
