Key Responsibilities: - Comply with all Bethany Community Services Policies and Procedures, including safety standards and operational guidelines. - Promote and implement safe work practices among on-site staff and ensure a safe working environment. - Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of the property, including buildings, facilities, and grounds, both indoor and outdoor. - Follow specific departmental policies and procedures as instructed by supervisors. - Diagnose and repair issues across various systems and areas, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, major appliances, carpentry, emergency systems, flooring, hardware accessories, masonry, painting/wallpaper, and water features such as pools and spas. - Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to identify potential issues before they escalate. - Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs performed. - Collaborate with team members and supervisors to prioritize tasks and ensure timely completion of maintenance requests. Skills and Qualifications: - Proven experience in building maintenance, repair, or a related field. - Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general repair techniques. - Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot a wide range of maintenance issues. - Strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures. - Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately. - Physical ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting, climbing, and working in various environmental conditions. -On-call rotation-stipend Bethany Community Services fosters a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages professional growth and development. Requirements: COMPETENCIES Verbal and written communication skills. Mechanical aptitude Bilingual/English/Spanish a plus PREPARATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES High School diploma or equivalent (GED). A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required. WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS Ability to read, write and communicate in English is required. The ability to lift 50 pounds or more on occasion may be required.
