Embark on a rewarding contract assignment supporting students as a Special Education Paraprofessional near Maple Grove, MN. This role begins in early September 2026 and extends through early June 2027, offering the opportunity to make a real difference in the school community. With 32.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, you’ll collaborate alongside talented educators in a dynamic learning environment.

Multiple positions are open across resource programming, Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD) centerbase, and Ready Set LAUNCH centerbase at a vibrant elementary campus. When applying, please specify your area of preference for placement.

Key qualifications:

  • Must be considered Highly Qualified by meeting one of the following:
    • Pass the MN Board Highly Qualified Para Exam
    • OR possess at least 60 college credits (transcripts required; diploma or degree photos not accepted)
  • Resume and proof of highly qualified status (Para Exam score or transcripts) required for consideration
  • Willingness to support students with all daily needs, including toileting if necessary
  • Genuine passion for helping students with diverse abilities thrive
  • Strong communication skills and a caring attitude

What you’ll do:

  • Work directly with students, providing support outlined in their individual education plans
  • Assist teachers with classroom management and lesson delivery
  • Support students in both academic and social settings
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure student safety and engagement throughout the school day

The pay for this position is $20 per hour.

In addition, after 422 contracting hours, you may be considered for a direct hire position with the school district, opening doors for long-term career development.
