Make an impact supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing with this rewarding contract opportunity for the upcoming school year, serving a vibrant educational community near Glendale Heights, IL. This full-time, onsite position spans the academic year from August 11, 2026, through May 24, 2027, and offers the chance to work in an itinerant capacity, providing specialized support to students across both a middle school and two elementary schools.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) endorsement required
  • Experience teaching, supporting, or providing accommodations for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in school settings
  • Strong collaboration skills, comfortable navigating multiple school environments
  • Ability to travel between school sites within the district as needed
  • Passion for encouraging student growth and inclusion

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction, consultation, and support services to students with hearing impairments, adjusting strategies to meet individual needs
  • Collaborate regularly with classroom teachers, speech-language pathologists, school counselors, and administrators to facilitate accommodations and inclusion
  • Monitor student progress, maintaining accurate and thorough documentation
  • Develop and implement IEPs tailored to students’ unique learning styles and needs
  • Advocate for accessibility and equal educational opportunities across assigned buildings
