Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Redwood City, CA

Key Qualifications:

• Education Specialist Instruction Credential in Deaf & Hard of Hearing, or
• Valid California Special Education Credential authorizing instruction for deaf and hard of hearing students
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
• Expertise in supporting communication development and academic achievement among deaf or hard of hearing students
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment
• Must be available to work onsite (this position is not available as VOCO or hybrid)

Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to individualize learning
• Develop and implement IEPs with measurable goals tailored to students’ unique needs
• Advocate for students to ensure access to curriculum and school community
• Utilize adaptive technology and resources in and out of the classroom
• Monitor and document student progress
• Provide guidance to staff and family members regarding best practices
