LHH is working with a growing global logistics and warehousing organization that is launching a new warehouse operation in the New Orleans market and is seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to lead facility startup and daily operations. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in establishing processes, building a team, and supporting specialized metals warehousing operations in a Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) environment.
Position Summary
The Warehouse Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of a 125,000-square-foot warehouse facility, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant handling of inventory and customer shipments. This leadership role requires a hands-on manager who can effectively lead warehouse personnel while actively supporting operational activities as needed.

Position Summary

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory control, and shipping activities.
- Supervise and develop warehouse team members to drive operational excellence and customer service.
- Ensure inventory accuracy and maintain compliance with established operational procedures.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound freight, including container and truck movements.
- Support the handling of imported and domestic materials within an FTZ environment.
- Maintain compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- Manage warehouse documentation and operational reporting.
- Monitor operational expenses and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Partner with leadership to support facility startup activities and ongoing business objectives.
- Foster a collaborative, team-oriented work environment.
- 5+ years of logistics, warehousing, terminal, or distribution experience.
- 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience within warehouse operations.
- Experience managing warehouse teams and day-to-day operations.
- Knowledge of inventory control, shipping, receiving, and warehouse workflows.
- Familiarity with Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) operations and customs-related processes.
- Experience working with metals, bulk commodities, terminal operations, or related industries.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing operational needs.
- Experience supporting startup warehouse or distribution facilities.
- Rail, port, cargo, terminal, or maritime logistics experience.
- Familiarity with exchange-traded metals operations.
- CPR certification or willingness to obtain certification after hire.
- Knowledge of OSHA and warehouse safety requirements.
- Self-motivated and results-oriented.
- Strong leadership and team development skills.
- Ability to operate independently and make sound decisions.
