Job Description
Make a meaningful impact supporting young learners as a Speech-Language Pathologist in a dynamic Pre-K setting close to Skokie, IL. This contract opportunity spans August 19 to November 11 and offers flexibility—work 2 to 4 days per week, with regular hours from 8:10 AM to 3:20 PM. The role primarily serves Pre-K students across two buildings and provides a supportive, collaborative environment.
Key qualifications:
- Active SLP-CCC (Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology) required
- Experience in school-based settings, especially with pre-kindergarten students
- Proficient conducting speech-language evaluations
- Familiarity supporting students who utilize Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) is strongly preferred
- Comfortable providing a full continuum of services, from speech-only interventions to those in self-contained classrooms
- Strong team collaboration skills, including participation in Tuesday staff meetings
- Able to work in a shared office environment across multiple building sites as needed
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative speech-language services to a caseload of approximately 35 students with identified needs
- Collaborate with classroom staff and families to support individualized education plans
- Participate in assessments, including collaboration with district SLPs for performance-based assessments (PBAs)
- Maintain accurate documentation and communications regarding student progress
- Adjust service delivery and strategies as needed to best meet diverse student needs across classroom settings
