Key Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and familiarity with educational interpreting practices
• Valid national interpreter certification (such as EIPA, RID, or equivalent)
• Previous experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in a school setting preferred

Daily Responsibilities:

• Interpret spoken communication between students who are deaf or hard of hearing, peers, and staff throughout the school day
• Support classroom learning, extracurricular activities, assemblies, and meetings as needed
• Prepare for assignments by reviewing lesson plans and collaborating with teachers
• Adapt interpreting style to meet the unique language and academic needs of each student
• Maintain accurate records of services provided and student progress
• Foster an environment that promotes independence and full participation for students
